As of September 17 2026, my rapid rating on chess.com is around 1280. I have repeatedly beaten players around the 1300-1400 rating range, which only reinforces the notion that I will at least reach that level with consistent play. But then what? Will I continue to improve past that?
At some point it will become a theory infested playing field but that doesn't worry me. If one sticks with the same openings they will develop an intuitive understanding of them that almost matches studying theory. A trial by fire that gets you pretty far. A hard skill cap exists and I'm in too deep. I must know how far I can go with this.
